April

After the Easter Holidays the road outside has been rather loud with the voices of children and the stench of car exhausts as School is back for 3 days this week.  Whereas it is nice to celebrate the wedding of a future king, the way that bank holidays have come along is ridiculus!  The children have 3 days this week, and four next; some have 3 days thanks to the election. In three weeks time it is half term and another holiday for Spring!  Isn't it about time that things got evened out?  We go from August to Christmas with no bank holiday, but this year there were 5 within 6 weeks!

Tiffany Aching

I have read "I will wear Midnight" by Terry Pratchett in the past couple of weeks!  I got it from the teenage section of my local library - and found there was a distinctly adult content that quite shocked me!  It opened with child abuse, the death of a baby caused by that abuse, and domestic violence.  As a book it was quite good - but I am looking forward to Snuff, the next Vimes novel out in october - yes, Nat, that is your birthday present, and yes, i will have to check that it is suitable for you to read before giving it you!

Reading:  Book one of the Shadows by Christopher Goulden
knitting: A pair of socks using the ZigZag pattern from Ravelry!

Second blog! taking time out on a lovely Saturday morning! Last night, the shadows in Northwood Park were as crisp and bright as many a summers day! The moon was full and the stars were shining in the firmament (a good biblical term there!).  This morning the washing is out on the line for the first time, the daffodils are blooming and spring is in the air! I always feel a lift in my spirit when you can leave the house without a coat, hat or umbrella at the ready! It is only a few days until the spring equinox and the clocks go forward next Sunday.  I hope that the weather continues like this for a few more days!

First Blog

Well, being inspired by a friend creating HIS first blog, I thought I would have a go!  I have called this Knots of a Knitting Reader; I knit - and I read!  Sometimes even together!  Hopefully I will be able to keep this updated, even if it is only me who reads it!

Current knitting:  a Cardigan for Evie and a pair of socks for the Guild wars on Ravellry

Current Reading:  Damia by Anne MacCaffrey (again!)
